Report: November

The
Gazebo overlooks fall colors at Regan Vineyards
Month:
November
Key
Activity: Vineyard Repairs & Fertilizing
Key
Color: Gold, color of leaves turning towards dormancy
Key
Vine Stage: Carbohydrate storage-carbohydrates produced in leaves
after harvest flow to mother vine
In
November, Regan Estate Vineyards has fruitless vines. The diminishing
green leaves continue to produce carbohydrates which move back
into the permanent mother vine. This is an energy source for the
plant and will provide protection during the freezing winter temperatures
as well as the energy needed for bud break in spring. As the green
chlorophyll in the leaves fade, gold color dominates. This signals
that dormancy is not far away.
Sincerely,
