Socially
EQUITABLE is the third "E" component of Winegrowing
Sustainablility. How we, as a business, interact with our workers
and community is important to BARGETTO WINERY.
Each
year BARGETTO releases a new vintage of LA VITA wine -a unique
red wine which is a blend of estate grown italian varietals.
Part
of the proceeds from each LA VITA vintage goes
to a non-profit organization in Santa Cruz County. Past beneficiaries
include: Jacob's Heart, Siena House, Hospice and Santa Cruz County
Search & Rescue, Good Shepherd School and St Francis Soup
Kitchen. The 2003 LA VITA funds will go to Porter
Street Library in Soquel. As an all-volunteer library, this institution
has been providing library services to the community since 1913.
John
Bargetto, director of the
LA VITA wine says, "LA VITA wine is our finest effort in winemaking,
from growing these unique grapes, to producing the wine to designing
the unique package. We are very pleased to be able to give back
some of the proceeds to the Santa Cruz community, which has been
so supportive to Bargetto Winery during our 75 year history."
