June

Month:
June
Key
Activity: Leaf Pulling
Key
color: Blue, clear Santa Cruz Mountains sky
Key
Vine Stage: Bloom
The majority of the seven Regan varietals
will bloom in May. Each berry has individual flowering parts,
which open during bloom time. At this time of the year, fair weather
is critical for “setting” a good crop.
Vineyard
workers will spend the entire month of June pulling leaves from
around the clusters. We approximate that 4 million leaves will
be pulled this year…all by hand! More sunshine directly on the
fruit yields more flavorful grapes and therefore better wine.
