All the grapes that went into this wine were grown at two mature vineyards within a mile of each other. The vineyards are a few miles east of Lodi in the city of Victor. This is good Zinfandel country. The vines are either 40 or 98 years old. This wine has a rich berry fruit nose with a delicate presence of oak, followed by mouth filling flavors of jam, black pepper spice and leather. This is a well-balanced wine with soft tannins to give structure and finish.
